Aliaxis designs sustainable, easy-to-install, and innovative solutions to address the world’s water challenges and accelerate the transition to clean energy. Headquartered in Brussels, the company has over 15,000 employees, with over 100 nationalities speaking more than 65 different languages.
Aliaxis’s solutions meet the customers’ most demanding needs for the building, infrastructure, industrial, and agriculture sector. The company’s presence in local markets all over the world has provided a deep understanding of regional building customs, materials, regulations, and customers. This has enabled Aliaxis to empower its thriving ecosystem of local businesses to deliver its objectives in a way that reflects the specific characteristics of each market.
Such empowerment requires business leaders worldwide to be fully engaged with their workforce and to have the tools to make informed decisions. It was therefore imperative to adopt more streamlined, scalable, and efficient HR processes across the company and to ensure easy access to relevant, real-time data.
These needs prompted Aliaxis to proceed with a transformative approach to its HRIS, using Workday to provide a single source of truth for the company. The positive impact of this move is now in evidence in many areas of the business. Building on this success, Aliaxis continues to introduce additional Workday functionalities. The advanced solutions help Aliaxis share knowledge and best practices, encouraging innovation across the company and allowing it to fully benefit from its global presence and strong local markets.
New functionalities enable Aliaxis to lift the HR function to the next level of maturity.
The transformation journey for Aliaxis began in 2019 with the introduction of Workday Human Capital Management, Workday Advanced Compensation, and Workday Talent and Performance Management. The company is now building on the successful deployment of the system and has introduced additional Workday functionalities.
“Workday is now the backbone of our HR operations,” says Veronique Van Middelem, global HR solutions program lead. “It is, in every aspect, an enabler that has added considerable value to the business and taken our capabilities to the next level of maturity. The effective digitization of our HR function is now enabling us to respond at speed and adjust our activities to meet constantly evolving market conditions and business challenges.”
Workday has provided a strong and structured methodology for deploying new functionalities integrated with a dynamic approach to change management.
With all of the real-time data and intelligence now at our fingertips, we are well placed to help our business leaders rise to the challenges they face and to move forward with their business development plans with confidence.

Managers are closer to their teams than ever.
Enhancing the employee experience and improved staff engagement are key objectives of the HR transformation program at Aliaxis. Workday helps the company to fulfill such goals by providing consistency and improved access to information and by bringing employees’ voices and thoughts closer to the business leaders. This enhanced communication is enabling the company to fine-tune its activities and take decisive action to reflect such feedback. Monitoring engagement is invaluable as the company continues to drive change and optimize productivity by automating many transactional activities that were previously very time-consuming.
The system is also providing managers with multiple tools to get closer to their teams, set goals, discuss individual development plans, and have informed conversations with their employees about career and skills development. This progressive approach to staff engagement and empowerment will benefit from the additional real-time insights to be provided by Workday Peakon, the continuous and intelligent listening platform.
Data-driven insight and new opportunities from ethical AI capabilities.
“Leveraging data-driven insight is at the heart of our strategic roadmap,” says Van Middelem. “That’s why we have introduced Workday People Analytics as a potentially powerful tool to enable us to act upon what the numbers are really telling us.”
Van Middelem says it is reassuring to be working with a partner that demonstrates a deep commitment to responsible AI and machine learning. “The capabilities and capacity of Workday has put the solution at the forefront of this evolution, and I have no doubt it will help companies like Aliaxis to lead by example and stay more than one step ahead of our competitors.”
The standard and extended reporting within Workday provide data to discuss and feed strategic discussions. But the AI capabilities move everything onto an entirely new level again, and that is a very exciting development as the company looks to move on to its next phase of growth.
