“We do live in a very complex and global landscape,” says Jane Tandy, HR chief of staff at SoftwareOne. “We operate in over 60 countries and every country has its own legislative constraints. Some countries have worker councils.”

“So we actually stopped and said, what can we do to make this a successful launch? And we scaled it back to just the core,” says Tandy. “So we went live with Workday HCM but guaranteed optimal performance,” says Tandy.
SoftwareOne successfully deployed Workday HCM and is now reaping the benefits of a unified HR system across its significant global footprint. The company has seen significant improvements in data integrity, process efficiency, and employee engagement.

Tandy offers this advice to other organizations considering a global Workday deployment: “One of the key things when you deliver something in so many countries across the world is really focusing and doubling down on change management.”
She also emphasizes the importance of listening to employees and understanding their needs. “Listen to your people. Because if you get that right, that means that whatever solution you’re crafting will meet the needs of everybody involved in it,” Tandy says.
