What is Workday Agent Passport?

Workday Agent Passport gives every AI agent a cryptographically signed record of what has been verified, by whom, and to what standard. Built directly into Workday's Agent System of Record (ASOR), it ensures trust is enforced at the same source of truth that already governs your people and money. Instead of wondering if an agent is safe to turn on, security and IT leaders can check this signed evidence before an agent is allowed to access HR, payroll, or finance data.

How does Agent Passport verify that an AI agent is trustworthy?

Every agent carries specific "Stamps" issued by Workday. Independent, named assessors—such as Cisco AI Defense, Straiker, and OneTrust—attach these signed stamps after testing the agent against published industry frameworks, including the OWASP Top 10, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, and the EU AI Act. Because of this independent testing, security teams can compare two agents based on exactly what was tested and by whom, rather than relying solely on a vendor's claims.

How does Agent Passport handle agents that don't meet our security policy?

Agent Passport provides a clear signal—the presence or absence of a stamp—giving you complete control over how to handle the agent. You define the tenant policy: if an agent lacks a required stamp, you can choose to block it from acting, prevent it from being registered, or flag it for admin review. If you do permit an unstamped agent to run, you are making an informed decision rather than trusting it blind.
