IGS Energy is one of the largest independent retail energy suppliers in the United States with over 1 million customers.
Prior to Workday, IGS was using multiple solutions to manage HR, payroll, and T&E expenses. As the company continued to grow, it struggled with processing larger expense report volumes due to system limitations and heightened ownership costs. It also faced significant challenges with data synchronization, reporting, and approval workflows. As a result, IGS decided to look for a new solution that would improve the user experience, scale with the business, and reduce overall costs. So it turned to Workday.
What I love about Workday Expenses is that it’s mobile and easy for our employees to use. With over 400 employees out in the field working day to day, having the ability to process expense reports via mobile is crucial.

Workday Expenses in action.
IGS selected Workday Expenses and Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) to provide a single destination for employee and manager self-service, with the ability to leverage employee data from Workday HCM to apply and enforce travel and expense policies.
Since deploying Workday Expenses, the company has made expense reporting easy and painless for employees, who can now take pictures of their receipts using the Workday mobile app and upload them for faster reporting. And since all data lives in one system, any changes in Workday HCM are immediately reflected in Workday Expenses. IGS can now also easily change business processes to meet its complex workflow requirements and use robust reporting in Workday to gain insight into employee spend.
