Self-Service Agent FAQs.

What is Self-Service Agent?

Self-Service Agent is an AI assistant that gives employees instant answers and guided actions inside Workday, effectively reducing routine HR tickets.

Employees can chat with the agent directly in Workday, as well as through your existing communication channels: Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gemini, and and M365 Copilot.

Self-Service Agent can handle time-off requests, expenses, and profile updates, as well as provide step-by-step guidance for high-stakes moments like promotions or job changes.

The agent uses your live Workday data and company policies, checks the employee’s permissions based on Workday roles, performs the approved action, and returns a confirmation.

Chats are deleted after 30 days. When the agent completes an action, it returns confirmation details (such as request information) directly to the user, while the permanent log is securely maintained within your standard Workday audit trail.
