Roberto Pucci:	So Sanofi is one of the largest healthcare companies in the world. We've got approximately 120,000 employees and we are operating in approximately 80 countries. That's why we need efficient systems to be able to have good-quality data and be able to manage resources across such a variety of geographies.
Denis Sacré:	When we looked at the thing that we needed to make an investment, frankly our initial thought was to capitalize on our existing HR system, which was in the ERP world. But then we did a bit of analysis and we came to the conclusion that this program would actually be very costly, very long. We actually started to challenge ourselves and started to think, well, is there an alternative, another way of doing this?
Roberto Pucci:	Think about this: we have more than 600 HR applications in this company—600. So, a tool like Workday will enable us to pull everybody into a single database. I do believe that will put us forward in the usage of that data in a much more transparent, effective, and an open way.
Stéphane Pistono:	The cloud is not new at Sanofi. It was soon obvious for us that a shift on our ERP strategy to a Software-as-a-Service approach was taking place. Workday will help us evolve from multi-pool on-premise systems to a global Software-as-a-Service platform. Sanofi will benefit from a unified system of record, single solution for HR processes concentrating the best practices of the market and a commitment for continuous innovation. This is a radical shift in the mind-set and culture of a company.
Denis Sacré:	The bottom line is really to be able to engage employees and managers in a way that truly works for them. We want them to take full control of their personal data. At the same time, we want to offer them more visibility into what their next job could look like. So it's actually providing them an environment where they are as comfortable and as confident as when they are actually buying a book on Amazon.com or when they are doing their internet banking or booking a flight. It's creating this sort of very seamless experience—except that this time, it is about things that have to do with their future within the company. And that's where we really think that Workday is going to make a big difference to Sanofi.
Stéphane Pistono:	Ways people work in HR will change with Workday. We at Sanofi are at the very beginning of our journey, but we have a very a strong feeling that we are on the right track.
