Event Registration
Where does the tournament take place?

The PGA Championship takes place at Harding Park in San Francisco, August 6–9, 2020. The event marks the first PGA Championship held in the Bay Area, the first PGA to visit California since 1995, and only the fifth time a municipally-owned golf facility has hosted a U.S. major championship. In another first, the PGA will begin LIVE wall-to-wall, 72-hole coverage through a historic broadcast partnership with CBS Sports, ESPN, and ESPN+. Viewers can enjoy more than 175 cumulative hours of the highest-quality live coverage from the first tee shot to the final putt across all broadcast, cable, and digital platforms. 

What is the registration deadline?

Availability is first come, first served. We encourage you to register as soon as possible.

What is included with my invitation?

What information do you need from me to attend?

We’ve made reserving your spot quick and easy. Simply fill out the online registration form with your contact information and the wave you’d like to attend. That’s it. 

Can I bring a guest?

We want you to have the best time possible, so we highly encourage you to bring a guest to join you for this unforgettable experience. 

What if my plans change after I register?

If your plans change or you need to update your information, visit the registration website and select Modify Registration. If you need to cancel your registration, please email pgachampionship@workday.com our team.

Getting To The Course
Workday Shuttle

We strongly encourage you to take the Workday shuttle from the W Hotel.  There will be very limited if any general admission parking.

Public Transportation

PGA Championship is working with local transportation authorities on public transportation routes to Harding Park.

Which airports are closest to Harding Park?

San Francisco International Airport (SFO):  Approximately 20 minutes

San Jose International Airport (SJC):  Approximately 1 hour

During The Event
What is the golf tournament schedule?

Play is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:45 a.m. for the first two championship rounds, from both the first and 10th tees. The last group will begin play at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Championship Rounds 3 and 4
On Saturday and Sunday, all players will tee off from the first tee in groups of two. Generally, the first pairing begins play between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The last pairing will begin play at approximately 2:30 p.m. 

Saturday, August 8: Gates open at 6:00 a.m., to conclusion of play

Sunday, August 9: Gates open at 6:00 a.m., to conclusion of play

What is the dress code at the tournament?

Guests should wear proper golf attire.

What is the typical weather during August in San Francisco?

Average August temperatures in San Francisco range from a high of 68°F to a low of 55°F.

What is the mobile device policy at the tournament?

Spectators may carry mobile devices smaller than 7 inches in length and/or height, including cell phones, smartphones, and PDAs. All device volume controls must be set to silent or vibrate at all times.  Phone calls must be received or placed only in designated “Phone Zones” located around the golf course. Phone calls must not be received or placed in any area that may disrupt play, including grandstands. Use of approved devices for photographs is subject to the camera/photography policy. Video and audio recording are not permitted at any time with any device. Texting and email are permissible throughout all areas of the golf course, but should not disrupt players. Violation of this policy may result in immediate expulsion and loss of ticket privileges for the remainder of the championship.

What items are prohibited at Harding Park during the tournament?

Workday guests and other championship attendees will go through security screening prior to entering the championship grounds and will not be allowed to bring any of the items listed below. 

List of Prohibited Items

  • No Weapons (regardless of permit, including but not limited to firearms or knives)
  • No Explosives and/or Fireworks of any kind
  • No Tablets and/or Computers (cellular mobile devices smaller than 7” are permitted, subject to mobile device policy)
  • No stand-alone cameras (other than Monday through Wednesday for personal photographic use, subject to the Mobile Device Policy)
  • No Selfie Sticks
  • No Drones
  • No Noise Producing Devices (including portable speakers)
  • No Backpacks, Briefcases, Purses and/or Bags larger than 6"W x 6"H x 6"D in their natural state
  • No Signs, Posters and/or Banners
  • No Food and/or Beverages except for medical or infant needs
  • No Containers, Coolers, Aerosol Cans and/or Spray Bottles except for medical or infant needs
  • No Pets (other than service animals as defined by the ADA assisting disabled individuals)
  • No Lawn Chairs and/or Oversized Chairs with Arms (compact chairs without arms are permitted with no case)
  • No Ladders and/or Step Stools or other similar items
  • No Bicycles allowed inside admission areas or on the championship grounds
  • No other items deemed unlawful, dangerous or disruptive by the USGA and/or Championship Security Personnel, in their sole discretion

Exceptions:

  • Transparent/clear plastic hand and shoulder bags no larger than 12”W x12”H x6”D are permitted.
  • Personal care items (3 ounce size or less) and transparent/clear empty plastic water bottles (size 24 ounce or less) are permitted.

The USGA reserves the right to amend the list of Prohibited Items at any time to provide a safe and secure championship.
