Speaker: David Rowan


David Rowan, founding Editor-in-chief of WIRED’s UK edition (2008-17), is the author of Non-Bullshit Innovation: Radical Ideas from the World’s Smartest Minds (Transworld, 2019), a global quest for bold corporate innovation in the face of technology-led disruption. He’s taken 130 flights in the past year to investigate the companies and entrepreneurs changing our world, and has spent time with the founders of WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Google, Didi, Spotify, Xiaomi, Nest, Twitter and countless other ambitious startups from Tel Aviv to Shenzhen. His keynote talks have included events for banks, governments and Fortune 100 companies, and stage interviews have ranged from to James Murdoch and David Cameron. David has been a technology columnist for The Times, GQ, Condé Nast Traveller and The Sunday Times. He's an early-stage investor in more than 50 tech companies and founder of, a non-profit taking amazing people for weekend adventures designed to build close community. And he is still searching for the future.

David is a Venture Partner at 83North – a global venture capital firm with offices in Israel and London. David was, until 31 March 2017, Chief Executive Officer of JUST EAT. David joined Just Eat in March 2006 to start its UK business after having a successful career with Coca-Cola.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Law and Business from Middlesex University Business School and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Entrepreneurship.
In 2014, David was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the Investor Allstars Awards and was listed as one of the London Evening Standard’s top 1,000 influential people. In 2015, 2016 and 2017 he was named as one of Britain’s most influential people in the Debrett’s 500.

Who can attend Workday Elevate?

Workday Elevate is open to invited prospective customers and invited customers. We encourage you to bring co-workers as there will be many product overview tracks.

Is there a cost to attend Workday Elevate?

No, there is no cost to attend. We’re happy to be your host, and know this will be a worthwhile event.

When is the deadline to register?

Registration remains open until we are at capacity.

Which meals are hosted by the conference?

In addition to coffee breaks, a continental breakfast and lunch will be hosted.

May I bring a guest?

I’m driving—where should I park?

The closest public car park is located at Wapping Lane, London E1W. For more details and to pre-book, click here. Please note, pre-booking doesn’t guarantee a space and the car park isn’t managed by the venue or event organisers

How do I get there by public transportation?

Tobacco Dock is located just 10 minutes from Tower Hill (District/Circle Line) and five minutes from both Shadwell (Overground/DLR) and Wapping (Overground).

Routes from Overground stations:

From Waterloo: Take the Jubilee line (Eastbound) to Canada Water, then change here for the Overground (Northbound) to Dalston Junction and alight at Wapping or Shadwell.

From Victoria: Take the Circle Line (Eastbound) to Monument, then change here for the DLR (Eastbound) to Shadwell.

From Kings Cross: Take the Northern Line (Southbound) to Bank, then change here for the DLR (Eastbound) to Shadwell.


Are parking fees covered?

Parking fees are the responsibility of the guest. Workday encourages using public transportation or ride sharing services, where available.
