Current enterprise systems were built for back-office support staff. Additional user interfaces have been added to try to accommodate self service for employees, access for managers, remote access and other requirements. Workday solutions operate on the premise that your navigation objectives are to find an object, then take action around it, whether it is a person, organization, invoice, or report. Attached to every object you see in Workday is a "related tasks" button that opens all of the actions you (based on your roles and permissions) can take on that object. This way of navigating frees you from having to memorize long lists of menu options and lets you take immediate action.
