Integration

IntegrationWorking Together

For years, business and IT professionals have faced a difficult reality: every on-premise business software implementation comes saddled with an ocean of costly and complex integrations that require huge programming efforts. And traditional on-premise enterprise software addresses integration as an afterthought, leaving customers with a patchwork of application interfaces and custom code to knit together.

Integration on Demand

Workday was started with the idea that integration should be a core design criteria and connectivity to other applications and information resources should be easier than it is today. Integration should be handled by the provider (us) as a service, not as another endless IT project for our customers. And because Workday delivers solutions on demand, we can offer what the industry has been imagining for years: standards-based, packaged and customizable integrations delivered as a service.

Workday supports connections to both on-premise and on-demand solutions:American Capital Strategies and Workday Human Resourc Management

  • Packaged: Workday offers a growing number of common integrations to solutions such as payroll software. These connections are managed by Workday as a service.
  • Custom: Workday and its partners deliver tailored connections between Workday and third-party or custom applications. These links can be provided as a Workday service or implemented on premise.
  • Personal: Workday offers business users easy ways to link productivity applications—such as Microsoft Excel®—to live Workday data, making it simple to create and share reports and tools with users across the enterprise.

To achieve this level of simplicity and flexibility, Workday is constantly innovating and investing in the core technology required to deliver and deploy simplified integrations:

  • Workday Web Services: We deliver connections to Workday solutions via natively generated Web services, which means greater simplicity and integrations that don’t break during upgrades.
  • Embedded ESB: An Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is embedded with every Workday deployment to provide transformation and orchestration between Workday, third-party solutions and legacy applications.

Why an Enterprise Service Bus?

Workday embeds an Enterprise Service Bus to provide a foundation for integrations, allowing for universal, standards-based connectivity for virtually all types of business applications, information and processes. Think of it as a universal translator that works between Workday and your other applications to manage the flow of information and processes you need to support your business.
