Workday Absence Management allows companies to define, manage, and track their time-off and leave-of-absence plans. Employees can manage their sick leave details or see accrual balances for better tracking of their time-off requests. Workday Absence Management can be used seamlessly with Workday Payroll or as a stand-alone service.

With Workday Absence Management, you can:

  • Maintain consistency of accrual calculations between Workday Absence Management and Workday Payroll
  • Provide a consistent self-service interface for employees to check their time-off balances or request time off

Unlike traditional ERP solutions that offer separate calculation methods for payroll and absence applications, Workday Absence Management shares a common foundation with Workday Payroll. This results in several conveniences, such as consistency between calculation results and access to information through a single self-service interface for administrators and employees. Also, delivered reports help managers and administrators track their population of employees on various leaves.

Time-Off Plans

  • Give employees ability to see their absence balances, view estimated future balances, request time off, and track time-off approvals
  • Utilize employee eligibility criteria to determine accrual rates and maximums
  • Leverage flexible balance accumulation periods (e.g., calendar year-to-date, fiscal year-to-date, etc.)
  • Employ rules that control the carryover amount and carryover date
  • Establish rules for absence periods that control the order of processing
  • Display current time-off balances or future time-off balances as of a specified date
  • Take advantage of out-of-the-box integration with Kronos for advanced time-and-attendance tracking through the Workday HCM Network

Leave of Absence Plans

  • Utilize employee eligibility criteria for different types of leaves in different regions or organizations (e.g. United States vs. Canada, etc.)
  • Configure leave impacts on work status (active/inactive), payroll calculations, absence accruals, etc.
  • Create additional rules to use for eligibility and or real-time validations
  • Employ rules that control the entitlement amount
  • Display leave of absence balances as of a specified date
