Beyond Business as Usual

Work is fun when you're surrounded by a diverse group of talented people, and since we spend a majority of a given day's hours at work, we want to enjoy our time here.

While we could share a long list of all the fun, cool things we do as a company, we don't really aim to be cool. Instead, we aim to foster an environment where our employees build lasting relationships with one another by working together on interesting and challenging projects at work as well as after hours.

Going Green
At the urging of one of our employees, we purchase Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) to offset the carbon emissions produced by Workday's energy consumption. We also recycle (even though our building doesn't), and we have an internal wiki page dedicated to environmental advice and resources and maintained by employees. Our Green Commitment

San Ramon Sports Adult Indoor Soccer League
Our Workdaze men's soccer team is a powerhouse in the San Ramon Sports adult indoor soccer league. Our passionate players are known as "overly ambitious and physical", and post-game blogs help rally the entire company behind the team when playoff games begin.

Maddie's Fund
Maddie's Fund was founded by Dave and Cheryl Duffield to support the creation of a no-kill nation for companion animals. In 2007, Maddie's Fund gave Workday employees the opportunity to nominate their favorite animal charities for special grants up to $20,000. Six grants were awarded to organizations in California, Vermont, and Michigan.

Wardrobe for Opportunity
Both Workday and Workday employees are pleased to support Wardrobe for Opportunity, an organization in Workday's community that provides business clothing and career support to low-income job seekers. One of our managers extends her leadership by serving on this non-profit organization's Board of Directors. Employees attend an annual fund-raiser and donate their gently used business clothing. And Workday provides both meeting space and a financial contribution to help the Wardrobe serve more than 1,700 men and women each year.

Devil Mountain Run
Workday has been the proud sponsor of the Devil Mountain Run for two years "running". This 5- and 10K event, the biggest race event in the East Bay, benefits the Children's Hospital of Oakland.
