POS-00167 - Communications Manager/PR


Our Corporate Communications team is looking for an energetic, talented team player to help share our story, and customers' stories, across both next generation social media and traditional media, as our Communications Manager. This includes analysts, bloggers and the hundreds of online networks that support business, industry and technology professionals. We are targeting someone who is eager to make an impact and contribute to Workday's long-term growth and success. We are looking for someone who is creative, with phenomenal writing and communication skills.

People who get excited about technology and its impact on business are an ideal fit! As well as people who have hands on experience with and an understanding of the changing face of communications - from twitter to LinkedIn to the growing influence of blogs.

The Communications Manager will work hand in hand with our executive leadership and product strategy teams to promote and protect the Workday brand. The ideal candidate will meet the specific information needs of our many constituents and will build strong relationships with influencers across all types of social and traditional media.


Responsibilities/Experience/Skills/Education:

  • Startup and consumer experience a plus

  • 3 years of corporate communications or agency related experience

  • Bachelor's degree is required, MBA not required but highly desired

  • Team-oriented approach

  • Knowledge and understanding of social media and the needs of journalists, bloggers and analysts

  • Solid organizational skills: proven capacity to organize and lead initiatives with teams

  • Ability to understand business technology solutions and ability to translate them into communications strategies, messaging, etc.

  • Superb writing and communication skills required

  • Work directly with analysts, bloggers and traditional media to coordinate ongoing discussions and provide a regular flow of both outbound and inbound communication about Workday, our competitors and the market.

  • Working with product and marketing strategy to develop and deploy communications plans to support Workday products and customer success
